Beauvais to Beaune, Burgandy

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone,  It's not warm when she's away. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone...
So, we woke up to light rain in downtown Beauvais. First off, after breakfast of croissant, bread & café, we visited St Peter's Catholic Cathedral, a beautiful Gothic cathedral, built from the 14th century thru to the 20th century when the organ was built.  I have to admit the first photo wasn't taken this morning but this is what it looked like yesterday.. (the inside shots are mine)

St Peter's Cathedral, Beauvais

We (i.e. Peter) drove the 5 hour trip from Beauvais to Beaune and did an excellent job driving on the wrong side of the road as it was raining all the way. After a little hiccup with meeting the person we are renting our studio apartment from, we are settled in for three (or more) days in Beaune, which from first impressions, looks like a delightful place to spend a week or so - only spending a maximum of two nights in any one place gets quite tiring for us old folks. Our apartment is perfectly situated in the centre of town and has everything we require - we found it through the Beaune tourism website - http://www.barbary-lane-houserental.com/

I have to mention the dinner we had tonight. After strolling around and finding a number of restaurants, brassieres, and  bars we decided on a little place that looked quite popular, called Dame Tartine, a traditional regional restaurant.  We chose from the  €10 menu - I had salmon, with a gorgeous light  garlic/parsley sauce & potato gratin, followed by a chocolate & orange  dessert while Peter had a chicken dish with a light crème sauce, followed by what was described as white choose but was in fact a  natural yoghurt mould which he described as "fantastic".  The red wine we chose was recommended by our host back in Beauvais:
